<b>About the Artists:</b> Jim & Jeff McGraw are a father and son nature photography team based in Washington State. Their photography has been published and displayed in a wide range of magazines, periodicals, books, environmental publications, medical journals and fine art galleries. Both are dedicated naturalists who have spent a great deal of time observing and photographing natural settings across the Western United States, Canada and Alaska. <br><br></b><b>James C. McGraw:</B> has fused three careers with his award winning nature photography profession. As a biochemist in Alaska, at the Arctic Health Research Center, he developed a keen love and eye for wildness and aboriginal lore in his field work. As a practicing Endodontist and University Professor, he developed surgical macro photography experiences for teaching and training purposes. As a director, consultant and clinician at the Seattle Woodland Park Zoo, Dr. McGraw uses wild nature images to promote world wildlife conservation and philanthropy efforts. His nature photography is primarily focused on western North America, its unique macro and micro landscapes as well as wildlife behavior images. His photography has been published in numerous magazines, books, periodicals and before juried competitions; including Scientific American, Wild Wolves of Yellowstone, Alaska Magazine, World in Focus Environmental Competitions, etc. Dr. McGraw has made numerous photo presentations before local, national and international forums. The primary goal of his nature photography is to promote the preservation of wild places (ecosystems and habitats) for endangered wildlife around the world. <br><br><b>Jeff McGraw:</b> Devoted to photographing the natural world, Jeff has developed his photography in the vibrant landscapes of the pacific northwest. Educated in Anthropology, Biology and Software Engineering his images in many ways mirror these pursuits by focusing on cultural traditions, natural settings, botanical forms and direct encounters with various furry inhabitants of the wilderness. Today Jeff's photography celebrates the diverse landscapes of the Americas and has been featured in various publications, journals, juried competitions and conservation efforts to help protect critical habitats and maintain wilderness. As a software engineer at Microsoft Corporation he has worked extensively on interactive presentation software, audio, video and digital animation developing his belief in the ability of visual arts to communicate ideas effectively. "As an outdoor photographer and naturalist I try to maintain a proper respect, fear and passion for nature while not actually becoming part of the food chain. I want my images to tug at your senses and ignite your interest in the experience of nature. With a strong respect for wilderness and faith I try to create images that are worthy of my subject matter. So enjoy.
